The amount of effort put into this wall is amazing. RideOnMusic has taken a bare monochrome scan and made it into a full color masterpiece. Check out the amazing amount of detail and time taken to deliver it in multiple formats! Excellent wallpaper!

Wow I gotta say this is really impressive. Everything looks seamless, I didn\'t even realize that you put their heads on the bodies of two anime girls till I saw the scans! The only thing is, after I took a good long look at the downloaded version, I realized that their heads are super huge on that body! I know it\'s hard switching from a realistic body to an anime body, cause the proportions in anime are totally off, but yeah I still think they need to be smaller. So no fav from me but I\'m sure others will be able to look past it. Good job nonetheless![/quote]
Super huge? I proportioned them the same as they were on their normal bodies o_O As in, I measured the original scans in Photoshop and adjusted the heads to fit correctly on the new bodies. I was making it true to Mio and Mayu\'s body structures, because their heads sit a little larger on their bodies than the girls\' heads that were replaced (unless you count their hair). Making them any smaller than that makes them look like different people all together.
no problem! I'm always open to suggestion/critiques as long as it's logical :)
I'll still have to argue with you on the practice thing though. I used the term "practice" but it's more like testing out a new form of art, because I've never tried doing a painted wall style before. Sorry if you're looking for a creative/original wall; I'll be doing that for my next wall! XD (if I uh..ever finish it....)
on to the ripples. oh dear, those were created by the ripples? (FAIL...) Uhh... well.. you see.. I'm just going to pretend that they're just color ink effects.. (-_-);
anyways, thanks for your advise/explanations! I'll definitely be taking them into consideration. (but don't be too harsh with me when I upload my other WIP which is 100% vexel of this scan. The scan itself is really cool but there's a huge page cut in the middle that can't be fixed so I thought I'll just vector everything...)
thanks for the comment on my mushishi wall :)
ok, here's my excuse: XD
i'm not sure what you mean by "jagged" lines, but I'm guessing it's the uneven, broken lines. I've kept it like that because the author draws like that. She does. I own all of Mushishi books!
As for the ripples, I was having a hard time painting it, so I just chucked it away. (yes, I fail...)
And lastly, I painted the wallpaper because I fell in love with the scan, but I wanted to go for a softer touch that can't be produced by color inks (i think its a color ink) I understand that you would feel this as "unoriginal" but there are so many other walls by people here, including the senior members, who still take a scan and repaint/vector the whole thing. My purpose in this wall was to test out my painting skills and try to create the mushishi wall in a different media.
hiya:)
thank you soooo much for the nice comment on my ffx wall
i really appreciate it and the fact you know its simple but took me a while to do it. if i was to reproduce it now or anyone else, i think they can do it in under 5 minutes lol XD
i like simple things, my desktop is simple too so yeh, thank you again :)
No problem, and the art is no really white, it's a darker and blurred, that makes it looks like an aura coming out of her hair xD
but still a nice wallpaper.
see ya~
Heya sorry it's 1 month late ;P
Thank you for your suggestions on Winter's Fragile Light
I tried to fix the color (click me) , but I can't fix the perspective because the layers are merged Sorry about that (-_-);
Thanks again ^^
I put my wallpaper together that way because I liked the effect, and so did other people. I did not get a single comment as criticizing as yours when it was in Session Zero. If you don't like the wallpaper, you do not have to look at it; I've seen several wallpapers that are poorly done in my opinion and yet people like them. So please save your criticizing for the Session Zero section, where it will actually be of use.
Hi storyteller ^^
Thank you for your feedback on my Road to Spirit Town wall.
You're right, I didn't do much and just re-trace the scan. I'll try to be more creative next time. [small](I can't do anything with that wall because I erased the psd file to make room in my HD ><)[/small]
I took your suggestions and updated the wall. Thanks so much for pointing out the missing shadows. Didn't know why I forget them but. Maybe you want to take a new look ^^
thank you for the comment and fav on my yuko spring wallpaper.... as soon as i find my psd file i'll look into the matter of fixing mokona's colour :3...sorries about that..but thanks again
Well.. it may have been a bit harsh but i understand what u said.. U have the right to have an opinion and i can't exactly please everyone
Anyway.. thanks for commenting on my Picture In An Exhibition It's always feedback and it is a constructive critique so thanks ^^

Wow dejavu; leviatan did the exact same thing with a xxxholic scan. I don\'t get what the fad is with vectoring a perfectly fine scan, but honestly it\'s a waste of time. You put no creativity into this. It\'s like me taking credit for tracing an image. I don\'t mean to be so harsh, obviously you put a lot of work into this, and hard work is impressive, but maybe you should use it towards less fruitless ventures. Like instead of completely recreating the scan you can change it to your own personal style, or do something interesting with it instead of reproducing the same image. Or hey if you don\'t like creating original wallpapers, why not vector the individual characters so that other people who like making wallpapers can use them?_
I really have no idea how to quote here, sorry =X
Anyways, I know you don\'t mean to be harsh, but it\'s obvious you don\'t know my other works. I usually reconstruct missing parts, I change characters completely, like clothes, hairstyles, etc... create bgs for simple scans, vector characters so other people can use them and much more... I do all sorts of things, including original art and I draw a lot as well, you don\'t know how it\'s nice to do a vector/copy once in a while for a change.
I actually did some changes to the original, but whatever...they\'re minor so no one notices.
I just wanted to say this, \'cause I hate complete copies of the scans myself as well, but it\'s nice once in a while and you can learn new things from them.
Just wanted to let you know what kind of works I do, I don\'t want to be judged by that one work alone.
I know you expressed your opinion, and I do respect that. We can\'t please everyone after all.
Thanks! :'D hmm that's not a mistake or what, its just a texture :3 but if you dont like it, just.. clean it xD its not that i'm lazy or what, i just cant lay my hand on my ps these days D: anyway, thanks again for the comment and favie :3 I really appreciate it :3
